This is the blog for attendees (and aficionados) of National Corndog Day -- www.corndogday.com. NCD 2005 is on March 19th this year, so time to get ready.

San Diego's First CornDogDay

Vitals: 18 of us gathered, the next generation of NCD'ers representing (Zoe's 3rd NCD -- 2nd as a hostess). 14 NCD rookies gave a decent effort, 3 of us making the halfway t-d mark but no certificates issued.

Zoe was the 3rd youngest -- and let the way in corndog appreciation

Charlie (beagle/hound) got 2 dogs and was exiled. He wasn't even sorry.

Zoe invented this tribute interpretive dance "ode to Corndog"

I held a Wake for my ten bucks though!

Hello Stryder,

We were wondering who you were. For the past five years, we have held the official NCD celebration for San Diego. (We have ties to the founders.) We were hoping that we could get in touch with you before Saturday so as to join forces, but alas, the invitations were not posted on the NCD site.

Anyway, we had a grand time, with numerous single-doubles being posted. Our guest list numbered 38, with a peak of 20 around 4pm.

Sadly, this will likely be the final year that Devin and I host together. (If either one of us is still in grad school at this time next year, we'll be incomprehensible and unable to get out of bed, much less hold a party.) So it's good to know there are other Diegans willing to carry on the golden crunchy torch.

Peace,

R.A. Liebscher, D.L. Drew

Heh -- So maybe _encinitas'_ first NCD eh? I should have known there were others out there, I will have to razz our fearless organizers. You had most impressive turnout and performance for sure!

I work with Greg Nelson at CTSG (now a division of Kintera, Inc. at Sorrento Mesa) and did some NCD's in Eugene ('99 - '04). Have we met? What's your connect?

Cheers, and happy Frozen Leftovers Day :)
